The Story of Mam's Secret Recipe

Dona Morris, known to our family as Mam, was born in 1932 in Medical Lake, Washington to her parents Judd and Mae Morris. Mam was a twin and one of 7 children. She spent much of her life in California and raised three children there. She moved to Palmer Lake, Colorado in 1992 to help her friend run the Country Cash general store right in the middle of town. Not too long after she moved to Colorado, her eldest daughter and family decided to follow. Her first grandchild couldn't say the word "grandma", but he could say Mam, so she went by that name from then on. Mam played a big role in her grandchildren's lives, helping to care for them while she lived in Palmer Lake, and then moving to Fort Collins once her other daughter, son in law and triplet grandbabies arrived there from New York.

She was always known by family and friends for her incredible chocolate chip oatmeal cookies, which were a secret recipe that she held close. Our name comes from a saying she used to have, "We don't say G*d damnit, we say damn. Damn is good!". It was a dream of hers to have her family create a business out of her secret cookie recipe. These cookies are sacred in our family, shared only with those closest to us on holidays, birthdays, or as going away gifts. They are a way for us to stay connected to her. Now, we are so happy to be sharing them with all of you and continuing Mam's legacy through this recipe. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
